The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

    Kutseõpetaja loob oma tegevusega tingimused ja suunab õppeprotsessi õppija tööks vajalike teadmiste ja oskuste omandamiseks. Ta toetab õppija isiksuse arengut ning kujundab tema valmisolekut elukestvaks õppeks. Kutseõpetaja lähtub oma töös õpetaja kutse-eetikast, enese arenguvajadustest ja oma füüsilise, vaimse ja emotsionaalse tervise hoidmise vajadusest. Kutseõpetaja, tase 7 annab edasi nii teoreetilisi teadmisi kui õpetab praktilisi tööoskusi. Koostöös ettevõtetega ja erialaliitudega arendab erialast väljaõpet õppeasutuses ning osaleb eriala arendamises väljaspool õppeasutust. Ta analüüsib, nõustab ja juhendab metoodiliselt teisi kolleege ning kujundab kutseõppe mainet. Kutseõpetaja kutsealal on ka kutseõpetaja, tase 5 ja kutseõpetaja, tase 6 kutsed. 5. taseme kutseõpetaja õpetab põhiliselt praktilisi töövõtteid, kujundades õpilastes tööharjumusi ja praktilisi tööoskusi. 6. taseme kutseõpetaja loob õppijale tingimused teadmiste, oskuste ja hoiakute arendamiseks õpetatavas valdkonnas.   2. Vanemõpetaja, tase 7

    Õpetaja töö on toetada õppijate (vt lisa 1 "Kutsestandardis kasutatud terminid") arengut, lähtudes nende tasemest, võimetest ja vajadustest ning arvestades riiklikes õppekavades seatud eesmärkidega ja arendada oma kutseoskusi. Vanemõpetaja kavandab iseseisvalt ja koos teiste õpetajatega õpitegevusi, õpetab ja kujundab selleks õppija arengut toetava õpikeskkonna. Professionaalse arengu eesmärgil reflekteerib oma tegevust, nõustab kolleege, õppijaid ja lapsevanemaid. Ta osaleb arendus-, loome- ja teadustegevuses ja teeb seonduvaid ettepanekuid. Vanemõpetaja, tase 7 teeb koostööd kolleegide, tugispetsialistide, lapsevanemate ja õppijatega, juhendab õpetajaid õpivara arendamisel, õpitegevuste kavandamisel ja analüüsil, lapsevanemate, kolleegide ja tugispetsialistide kaasamisel, uurimistöö läbiviimisel ning enesearendamisel ja nõustamisel.
