    Professional courses are secondary level courses and aim at the development of personal and professional skills, preparing the students who attend them to enter the job market or to access post-secondary education or higher education, if that is their will. The courses in operation are integrated in several areas of education and training. These courses have a curricular structure organized by modules, which allows greater flexibility and respect for the learning rhythms of each student. The curricular matrix of the Professional Courses integrates components of socio-cultural, scientific and technical formation. The socio-cultural training component aims to contribute to the construction of students' personal, social and cultural identity; The scientific training component aims at acquiring and developing a set of scientific knowledge and basic skills of the respective course. The technical training component aims to acquire and develop a set of knowledge of a technological, technical and practical nature, structuring the professional qualification aimed at. This last component of training must include in-service training, in order to acquire and develop technical, relational and organizational skills relevant to professional qualification. It should also be noted that some of the programs of the Professional Courses are already organized, in terms of the technical component, according to the training guidelines of the National Qualification Framework (NQF).
