  1. Certificate of Small Animal Veterinary Practice

    The ESAVS and the University of Luxembourg also issue an examination-validated certificate, corresponding to a shorter version of the Master programme (European master of small animal veterinary medicine), with less compulsory class hours and written work. The Certificate of Small Animal Veterinary Practice testifies that you have acquired a good theoretical knowledge accompanied by sufficient practical training in the field of small animal veterinary medicine with focus on a chosen discipline. The disciplines are taught in a series of 5- to 10-day consecutive courses where admission to the next level ordinarily requires completion of the previous course (please see the specific requirements of each discipline). Each ESAVS course is credited by the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS points). Considering student working time to attend courses, to study and to prepare for the examination, a 5-day (40 hours) ESAVS course generates usually 5 ECTS. Lifelong learning ...

  2. European Master of Small Animal Veterinary Medicine

    Since 1991, the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS) has been providing training courses for veterinarians wishing to upgrade their knowledge in many areas of clinical veterinary medicine. The ESAVS formalised in 2008 a long-term association with the University of Luxembourg and its Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication. This cooperation has enabled the establishment of a degree, the European Master of Small Animal Veterinary Medicine (EMSAVM).The EMSAVM involves coursework and written modules, including studies both within the existing framework of ESAVS courses and work carried out in the veterinary practices of the participating students. The objectives of this programme are:  To offer an extended post-graduate curricula, that prepare the veterinarian to attain an advanced level of competence in specific disciplines (ESAVS courses) To develop the problem-solving approach and the concept of evidence-based medicine in order to properly evaluate and report results (Clinical cases reports) To promote interaction with the EBVS specialists (Diplomates) To train participants in critical information retrieval and literature search as well as scientific writing (Master thesis) To promote continuous life-long professional development in the field of small animal veterinary medicine.  To obtain the EMSAVM degree in the discipline of your choice, you shall attend ESAVS courses which are offered in several European locations, take and pass the respective examinations, submit a Case Log which ...

    This Master programme enables students to acquire deeper knowledge in biosciences taking into account new computational and high-throughput experimental technologies. This involves the handling of large amounts of data and thus bioinformatics and network analysis are essential elements in this modern education in biosciences.   7. Bachelor en Sciences et Ingénierie- Mathématiques

    Each semester, our courses are grouped together into modules. The courses of one of these modules can be chosen freely by each student. This allows our students the freedom to explore other branches of Science related to Mathematics. In addition, our programme provides the students with an opportunity to improve their linguistic proficiency by offering courses in Scientific English. In accordance with the Bologna Process, each semester’s course credits sum up to 30 credits in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). Entry to the first semester is open to all students who have obtained a Luxembourg secondary school degree or who hold an equivalent foreign degree recognized by the Luxembourg Ministry of Education. Transfer or more advanced students may join the programme at a higher level, but these applications will be considered on an individual basis. Having successfully completed the first four semesters of the programme at the University of Luxembourg, our students spend the fifth semester at a university outside Luxembourg, for instance at one of our partner universities, as is required by Luxembourgish law. Students are assisted in their ‘semester abroad’ through the Erasmus Programme. Students return to the University of Luxembourg for their sixth semester, at which time they must write their Bachelor’s thesis.
