    Biology is the knowledge of all living organisms, from the tiniest molecules constituting the building blocks of cells, to entire ecosystems. Our future and life quality depend on this knowledge for sustainable utilization and conservation of living resources. Why are some individuals more sexually attractive than others? What mechanisms make living organisms resist bacteria, viruses and parasites? How are seabirds influenced by uncontrolled oil spills? These are some of the questions that biology seeks to answer.
