    Learning outcomes: Knowledge and its application: A1 Knows and understands the distinction and evolution of Lithuanian culture in global context; possesses general knowledge in social, physical, biomedical and technological sciences. A2 Possesses theoretical and methodological knowledge in linguistics and literature science, realizes links of Lithuanian philology with other sciences, understands employment of interdisciplinary relations in studies and vocational activity.     The second-cycle interdisciplinary English Studies Programme covers three aspects of study: literatures written in the English language, English linguistics and culture of English-speaking countries, mainly the United Kingdom, Canada, USA and Ireland. The three components are interrelated; however, students are provided with an array of optional courses, which helps them narrow down their area of study to one aspect if they are inclined to do so. The programme is offered for those who have an interest in English culture, literature and language studies and have completed their first-cycle university studies.
