    The curriculum is completed within eight semesters. During the seven first semesters, theoretical teaching is performed (theory and practical exercises), along with the laboratory practice of students. During this period, students participate - individually or in groups - in the preparation of studies or work aiming, firstly to the development and consolidation of the knowledge acquired for the specific field, and secondly, to their familiarization with the technique and the methods for preparing and presenting technical reports and studies. From the fifth semester of their studies, students are called to select the direction of their studies. The directions offered are three: I. Network Engineers of Technological Education, II. Computer Engineers of Technological Education, III. Software Engineers of Technological Education. The selection of the direction affects the respective group of direction courses that must be attended by students during the fifth, sixth, and seventh semester. In order to complete their education, the students of the department are obliged to prepare their dissertation and attend practical training for six months. This period offers students with the ability of delving into the subject of their choice (through their dissertation), while acquiring (through practical training) their first contact with issues concerning the labour market. ...

    The undergraduate Programme of Studies of the School of Informatics aims at educating scientists capable of for collecting, classifying, processing and transmitting information, using, studying, designing, analyzing, implementing, deploying, monitoring, evaluating, and certifying appropriate computer hardware, software and network systems. The School of Informatics provides to all graduates the fundamental knowledge and competencies for the effective practice of the profession of the Computer Scientist, and additionally provides to its students the opportunity to specialize by deepening their knowledge in one of the four (4) compulsory scientific tracks (directions). In order to graduate from the School of Informatics, students are required to attend and successfully complete courses (compulsory and electives) and the undergraduate thesis (equivalent to 3 courses) within a time period which is consistent with the law. The programme of studies is structured as follows: The first five semesters include core courses that provide the student with the necessary fundamental knowledge.     The aim of the Department is to promote the field of Informatics and specialization in the areas offered. To this end, its Programme of Studies focuses on applied research and offers students resources for their scientific and professional career. The Programme covers areas both from the field of Informatics and Computer Engineering. The Department’s undergraduate programme is structured in semesters. To graduate, students must successfully complete 8 semesters. All courses are taught and examined during the first seven semesters, while students are asked to write their diploma thesis and complete their internship in their eighth semester. Students shall attend theory classes, workshops, laboratory sessions, extra classes (designed to enhance students’ skills), and seminars, and are asked to carry out assignments on a variety of topics.
