The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

The graduates of the PhD in Education Sciences shall be able to: 1. Specify, interpret, and apply qualitative methods of analysis in educational research, while critically discussing and analysing modern / current issues concerning the qualitative and quantitative approaches to educational research. 2. Interpret and evaluate published research work from the field of education and from the field of their subjects of concern. 4. Identify, explain, and analyse the concepts and methods of modern research in education. 5. Plan research proposals through the application of various parameters for the research methodology in education and in the cognitive fields managed. 6. Evaluate and examine research proposals in every level. 7. Organise and conduct personal and independent research. 8. Produce and write dissertations at the highest level within the context of their cognitive subject. 9. Defend their doctoral dissertation with sufficiency and academic accuracy and quality. 10. The holders of the doctoral diploma in Education Sciences and Educational Design: KNOWLEDGE- have increased and specialized knowledge on the domains related to the core fields where the doctoral dissertation is conducted (Education Sciences, Sciences of Educational Design, Social, Humanitarian Sciences) in an interdisciplinary basis, to the extent of interconnection of the above fields with other scientific fields, depending on the subject of the doctoral dissertation.
