Qualification Information

Students will be able to:

(general competences)

  • identify the structure of an environment, both natural and man-made,
  • identify processes in nature such as retention of water, self-cleaning capability and biodiversity,
  • transfer acquired knowledge from legislation and the fields of the environment, psychology of the environment, ecosystem services and ecoremediation systems into practice, including environmental communication and e-support,
  • demonstrate familiarity with technology in ecoremediation systems and maintain ecoremediation facilities,
  • provide e-support to ecoremediation systems

(subject-specific competences)

  • demonstrate understanding of the functioning of ecosystems and their protection and renewal,
  • analyse abiotic and biotic factors of the environment,
  • demonstrate familiarity with ecoremediation,
  • demonstrate understanding of environmental degradation,
  • demonstrate knowledge of the internal structures of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, including anthropogenic ecosystems,
  • demonstrate understanding of environmental legislation,
  • work with people,
  • demonstrate knowledge of ecosystem services,
  • undertake practical work in the environment, both natural and degraded,
  • provide monitoring,
  • maintain ecoremediation facilities,
  • provide integrated environmental management.

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
