The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

  2. Master of Law (LL.M.)

    Type of qualification This qualification is a higher education/university degree. A system of tiered qualifications has been agreed upon in the European Higher Education Area. These are Bachelor degrees, Master’s degrees and doctorates. Master is the title given to academic qualifications which are awarded following successful completion of the second cycle according to the German Higher Education Qualifications Framework and the qualifications frameworks of the European Higher Education Area. Persons acquiring academic degrees at Master’s level are qualified for a career in academic research or for activities on the labour market. The usual period of study is a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years, equivalent to 60 and 120 ECTS points respectively (normally a total of 300 ECTS points). Description of the qualification (learning outcomes) Knowledge and understanding Persons acquiring a degree at Master’s level have demonstrated knowledge and understanding which normally builds on and significantly extends and deepens the knowledge and understanding acquired at Bachelor level. They are in a position to define and interpret the particular characteristics, limits, terminologies and schools of thought within their field of learning (extension of knowledge).     1. Having knowledge and insight in the most important traditions, concepts and methodological approaches used in the field of bioethics internationally. 2. Being able to understand and critically assess academic literature published in the field of bioethics. 3. Being able to develop academic work in the field of bioethics with the intention to have the results published in national or international (preferably refereed) journals. 4.     Onderstaande leerresultaten bouwen voort op deze van de Master of Laws in de Rechten. 1. Een brede en diepgaande kennis hebben van en inzicht hebben in de rechtsdomeinen van het internationaal en/of Europees recht, de totstandkoming en de dynamische ontwikkeling van de regelgeving. 2. Zelfstandig een binnen het domein van het internationaal en/of Europees recht relevante onderzoeksvraag formuleren, kaderen in de bestaande regelgeving, uitwerken en de onderzoeksresultaten kritisch evalueren met het oog op het leveren van een eigen bijdrage aan het vakgebied. 3. Een complex feitelijk en/of juridisch, internationaal en/of Europees, probleem vatten in een juridische vraagstelling en op basis hiervan een doordachte oplossing uitwerken. 4.   6. Master of Laws in de rechten

    1. Verbredende, diepgaande of gespecialiseerde kennis hebben van en inzicht hebben in één of meer rechtsdomeinen van het Belgische, internationale of Europese recht. 2. Kennis hebben van en inzicht hebben in andere rechtsstelsels. 3. Rechtsbronnen in het Nederlands en in het Frans vinden, naar waarde schatten en gebruiken op academisch-wetenschappelijk verantwoorde wijze. 4. Zelfstandig feiten kwalificeren en de relevante rechtsregels, na de nodige interpretatie, toepassen in complexe casussen. 5. Een logische en correcte juridische argumentatie over complexe casussen opbouwen, begrijpelijk verwoorden en verdedigen. 6. Zelfstandig een onderzoeksvraag formuleren, een onderzoeksplan opzetten en uitvoeren en de onderzoeksresultaten kritisch evalueren op het niveau van een beginnend onderzoeker. 7. Een analyse en synthese van eigen onderzoeksresultaten en/of oplossingen van complexe casussen op academisch-wetenschappelijk verantwoorde wijze helder en gevat presenteren en rapporteren, zowel schriftelijk als mondeling, aangepast aan het doelpubliek. 8. Bewust zijn van het belang van permanente kennisontwikkeling door het opvolgen van wetgevingen en evoluties binnen het vakgebied van de rechten. 9.
