The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

  6. Master of Social Sciences in Communication Science (LU)

    The goal of the master’s degree programme in communication studies at the University of Latvia is to train highly qualified specialists in the field of communication studies and practical aspects thereof – journalism, public relations, advertising, communication management, as well as study of communication processes. Students have a chance to gain in-depth knowledge about theories and methodologies in communication, also developing skills and competences related to communication-related research projects and methods, as well as skills related to analytical and critical thinking and creativity.
