    Learning outcomes are statements of what a learner knows, understands and / or can demonstrate successfully after graduation. On completion of study the following criteria shall be fulfilled: Knowledge Upon graduation the student possesses knowledge and understanding relevant to the job. This means that the student: Is familiar with and has an understanding of leisure and its pedagogical value. Has gained a general understanding and insight into the basic theories and concepts in leisure studies, life skills, ethics, sociology, psychology, event management and outdoor education. Is familiar with recreation and leisure and the covenants, laws and regulations relating to it, such as activity-curriculums.     Definition Two year theory and research oriented graduate programme in Tourism at the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Iceland. It provides 120 ECTS units of credit and qualifies for the degree magister scientiarum, MS. Entrance requirements are BS degree in tourism studies or comparative degrees (BS or BA) with minimal grade of 6,5. The scope of research oriented project is 60 ECTS units. An MS degree provides access to doctoral education at level 3.
