  1. Master in Geography and Spatial Planning (académique)

The Master in Geography and Spatial Planning is designed to respond to the growing need for highly qualified experts that can embrace the multi- dimensionality and complexity of the evolution of cities and regions, reflecting global changes and local dynamics. The programme addresses key social, economic and environmental challenges with a geographical and multi-scalar perspective. It provides a unique combination of academic courses and practical work. The student will learn to identify and explain conceptual and theoretical models and work with geographic information systems, computer-aided cartography, statistical tools as well as qualitative assessment and survey methods. The Master of Geography and Spatial Planning combines both the strength of a very integrated programme via a set of common mandatory courses, and the strength of a flexible programme via specialisation options from the second semester on. The student can specialise in either advanced territorial and urban governance analysis or in advanced spatial analysis and modelling tools. A Master Thesis has to be conducted during the fourth semester to complete the degree. The thesis can also be linked to an internship within a research or non-research institution ...

  2. Master in Architecture

The Master in Architecture combines both a traditional curriculum of architectural education and a profiled programme structured around three major themes: architecture, European urbanisation and globalisation. The Master in Architecture educates future architects with specific additional skills in research and knowledge in the field of urban design particular to European urbanism and globalisation. The Master in Architecture focuses on: teaching architectural and urban design on different scales in a European context, with an emphasis on the strategic aspects of design architectural and urban research with architectural means focusing particularly on European urbanisation research on the impact of globalisation on cities and regions, as well as on comparative analysis of typologies in architecture and urbanisation worldwide ...

  3. Master of Science in Civil Engineering- Megastructure Engineering with Sustainable Resources (académique)

This Master enables students to acquire deeper knowledge in civil engineering with a specific focus on planning and constructing megastructures while using resources sustainably. Sustainability is increasingly important and the well-trained modern civil engineer must be able to judge and optimise civil structures and buildings while taking into account shortages in construction materials and energy resources. This dual focus on megastructures and sustainability sets us apart from other masters of civil engineering. By studying this programme, the student becomes a Master of Science in Civil Engineering who can: Analyse civil problems and put them in a broader context regarding non-technical aspects, such as project management and managerial accounting. Operate in an international environment and in interdisciplinary teams. Plan and design structures, systems, components and processes to meet desired needs in civil engineering. Oversee the consequences of his/her actions regarding time and transport planning, energy consumption, environmental health and use of resources. Optimise the design by a sustainable use of resources. Apply this all at the most complex design of civil megastructures. ...
