    DefinitionA three-year theoretical and practical programme in biology at the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, School of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the University of Iceland. It provides 180 credit ECTS units and qualifies for the degree of baccalaureus scientiarum, BS. Entrance requirements are a student examination from a secondary school with emphasis on mathematics and natural sciences. Students are strongly advised to take at least 21 credits (35 fcredits) in mathematics, and 30 in credits (50 fcredits) in science, including at least 6 credits (10 fcredits) in physics, 6 credits (10 fcredits)  in chemistry and 6 credits (10 fcredits) in biology.
