    Definition A three to four-year theoretical and practical research-based postgraduate programme of studies in biochemistry at the Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Iceland. The programme provides 180 to 240 ECTS units of credit and qualifies for the degree of philosophiae doctor, PhD. Entrance requirements are a research-based MS-degree or a comparable qualification or alternatively. The scope of the research project shall be 180 ECTS units.     DefinitionA three-year academic and applied research-oriented graduate programme in environmental studies at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, School of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the University of Iceland. The programme is 180 ECTS and comprises 180 ECTS research project. The Ph.D. committee may require the candidate to take courses in addition to the research. Credits for courses are then added to the credits required for the dissertation.
