The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

After completing their studies, graduates of the Department acquire the necessary scientific and technological knowledge, abilities and skills to operate as a Dental Technologist responsible in areas of their competence:- They assume responsibility for the establishment and operation of a dental laboratory and are able to ensure the quality and certify the suitability of dental prostheses manufactured. - They choose the appropriate machinery and institutions to equip dental laboratories, see to their maintenance and implement the relevant hygiene and safety rules.- They stay up to date about for modern materials, choosing the appropriate ones, for the required biological behaviour and the laboratory method to be followed, based on the specific case at hand.- They man the dental laboratory with qualified staff; they supervise them and assign them with specific tasks, depending on their specialty.- They design and manufacture all types of dental prostheses, of Mobile and Fixed Prosthodontics, according to the written instructions of the dentist, with the aim of preserving or restoring the balance of the stomatognathic system.- They designs and manufacture various types of orthodontic devices, both intraoral and extraoral retainers, according to the instructions of their dental colleagues.- They possess the fundamentals of prosthetic implants and maxillofacial prosthetics to be able to attend specialized courses.- In the context of collective work, they participate in a work group with expert dentists for the des ...
