Course Information

The University of Aveiro degree in Translation aims to provide graduates with a general scientific understanding and appropriate working methodologies to enable them to develop essential translating competences in two foreign languages; to develop the future graduates' competences in their mother tongue and in two foreign languages, with a view to mediating between these languages; and to prepare graduates for post-graduate study in various areas of specialisation.

Although study programmes are taught in Portuguese, teaching staff will be able to provide tutorial-type support in English and will provide English language recommended lists.

The University of Aveiro (UA) offers a wide range of degree and non-degree programmes through its university departments and polytechnic schools in various areas of knowledge which reflect its multidisciplinary and innovative character. On the campuses of Santiago and Crasto, the UA has halls of residences, consisting of 34 residential blocks, with a total of 1,044 beds, in single or shared rooms, equipped with kitchen, laundry and study rooms. These housing units accommodate graduate and post-graduate students who request this service.
