Students' knowledge is assessed by means of practical exercises and seminar papers, and also via products, projects, performances, services and by examinations. Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).
Diplomas are issued to students who complete all the obligatory modules/subjects in the amount of 94 credits, the elective module in the amount of 16 credits, the free elective subject in the amount of 5 credits and diploma work in the amount of 5 credits.
- Matura or
- vocational matura, or
- final examination before (1 June 1995) under any four-year secondary programme or
- master craftsman, foreman or managerial examination, three years of working experience and test of knowledge passed in general education subjects in a scope determined for the vocational matura in secondary professional education.
In addition to the enrolment requirements prescribed by law, there is an enrolment requirement of passing a test of special psychophysical abilities, comprising a test to determine communication and social skills and a personal interview.
