Public Health - Master studies

Course Information

The aim of the programme is to prepare highly skilled specialists for the scientific research in the field of public health (epidemiology, environmental health, health promotion, health care organization and health statistics) with fundamental theoretical knowledge in public health and research methodology and practical skills of public health research. Master's study program has been worked out considering the recommendations of the Association of European Public Health Schools (ASPHER).

Main objectives of the Study Programme:
- to provide students with opportunities to acquire in-depth theoretical knowledge in public health and research methodology;
- to promote skills and competences necessary for research data collection, processing and analysis;
- to develop the ability to link together theoretical knowledge and research findings in public health practice;
- to promote the use of evidence-based decisions in public health practice;
- to provide an opportunity for acquisition of additional knowledge in elective study courses because of need to form a multi-disciplinary approach to specific public health problems;
- to increase students participation in research (projects, conferences, publication);
- to provide the ability of graduates to compete in the European labour market.

Access requirements: 

Higher academic or professional education corresponding to at least 120-160 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System credit points (corresponding to bachelor degree) either in public health, health and social care, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, social sciences, nursing or social work.
English language profeciency (certificate in IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 certificate or equivalent).
