Professional Bachelor of Engineering in Material Science, Engineer of Wood Processing (LLU)

Qualification Information

He aim of the study programme:
- provide students with the knowledges of genera education and specialization study courses in the field of wood processing to prepare knowledgeable specialists in research and practical work required, can manage the processes of wood technology and wood resources flow of different types and volume of the forest industrys or lead positions in private companies and state institutions.

Results:
- passing the study program with included general education, specialization, elactive study courses, students acquire knowledges about wood materials and properties, fields to used;
- skills to prepare technology for selected timber materials, create a business plan for implementation of developed technology;

Competences:
- to independently manage the established production unit, develop new wood products and prapare marketing plan for their successful promotion in the market.

2. To use technical and legal documentation, laws and technical standards governing the woodworking industry, draw up business and professional documents.
3. To work in a team, plan, organize and manage professional teamwork, establish work priorities, do the work also individually.
4. To explain one's opinion, convince others and deal with conflict situations.
5. To systematically improve professional qualification.
6. To observe high communication culture and compliance with ethical norms.
7. To plan and organize work and control execution thereof.
