NURSE - INTENSIVE CARE (STRUKOVNA MEDICINSKA SESTRA-TEHNIČAR SPECIJALISTA INTENZIVNE ZDRAVSTVENE NEGE) is an one-year Specialist programme (60ECTS) of applied studies offered by the Milutin Milankovic Medical College of Applied Studies in Belgrade.

The programme is aimed at providing vocational nurses specialists with the maximum of knowledge and skill necessary for treating critical patients in the units of intensive care and for applying modern techniques and methods in the treatment of critical conditions. The programme comprises two semesters, or one year, with 60 ESPB. The total number of subjects is 11 with 4 optional. The acquired title upon graduating is - Vocational Nurse Technician - Intensive Care Specialist.
The specialist vocational studies have been introduced since the school year 2012/2013 with the emphasis on the significance of applied knowledge in the domain of medical sciences. The programme is designed according to the modern standards and requirements. The aim of the programme is to provide nurses with all the essential knowledge and skill for treating patients in critical condition, both in and out of the hospital, and for managing the contemporary equipment for conducting monitoring, mechanic ventilation and all the other procedures required in the area of urgent care.

Access requirements: 

As a general requirement, to enter a Specialized programme the candidate has to have obtained a Bachelor diploma with 180 ECTS points.
Specific admission prerequisites usually entail specific knowledge in certain disciplines and should be checked at the institution’s website for each individual programme a student is interested in.
