Qualification Information

Graduates will be able to undertake autonomous research, counselling and/or teaching work at research institutes, higher education institutions and other institutions where such staff are needed. Graduates will have built on and broadened their technical and theoretical knowledge and have a detailed grasp of the theory and methodology of research in their selected field. They will also be capable of addressing concrete scholarly problems.

Third-cycle doctoral study programmes (SQF level 10)

Examination performance is graded as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, a candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

In order to complete the programme, as well as passing examinations in individual subjects students must successfully defend in public a master's thesis that has been awarded a passing grade. Graduates of this programme must complete the programme by the 30.9.2016.
