The Programme provides critical approaches to culture and follows historic transformations over time, aiming to provide knowledge about the far neighbours of Greece with regard to the institutions and social organization, and mainly the actions, the memories, and the experiences of individuals in their everyday life.  The programme aims to establish an academic paradigm of extroversion on issues of teaching and research for the regions of East Europe, of the Balkans, and of the Mediterranean.  This includes networking - collaborations - exchanges with Universities of the Central and Southeast Europe: Graz (Austria), Cluj (Romania), Novi Sad (Serbia), Sofia (Bulgaria), Zagreb (Croatia), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Regensburg (Germany). The main objective of the Postgraduate Studies Programme is the following:  Provide opportunity for specialisation on the studies of the regions in Southeast and East Europe in terms of History, Anthropology, and culture studies (art, literature, management of cultural inheritance).  It promotes the importance of extroversion for the conduct of cultural criticism inside and outside the Greek borders, with the purpose of cultivating tolerance for difference.  It promotes the specialisation on the sciences of History and Social Anthropology, with a central reference to the studies on the East and Southeast Europe, preparing students interested in furthering their studies to acquire a doctorate.  It promotes further learning and the acquisition of skills addressed to future and/or already working a) executives of international organisations and NGOs, b) managerial executives of the public or private sector, c) executives of Social Cooperative Businesses active in the fields of education, tourism, and management of cultural products (tangible and intangible).
