Course Information

The 1st cycle degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Aveiro offers students the following language specialisations: English/German, Portuguese/English, Portuguese/French and Portuguese/Spanish. The study programme enables students to develop and perfect specific competences, within a broad humanistic framework, in modern languages, literatures and cultures, exploiting interdisciplinary intersections and promoting intercultural dialogue.

Although study programmes are taught in Portuguese, teaching staff will be able to provide tutorial-type support in English and will provide English language recommended lists.

The University of Aveiro (UA) offers a wide range of degree and non-degree programmes through its university departments and polytechnic schools in various areas of knowledge which reflect its multidisciplinary and innovative character. Have completed one of the following university entrance exams (central exams prepared by the Ministry of Education and Science): Portuguese Literature or Portuguese Language

Admission Procedure: 

Applications are done through the national admission contest (concurso nacional de acesso) organized by the Directorate General of Higher Education (DGES), or through special higher education contests. For more information.

On the campuses of Santiago and Crasto, the UA has halls of residences, consisting of 34 residential blocks, with a total of 1,044 beds, in single or shared rooms, equipped with kitchen, laundry and study rooms. These housing units accommodate graduate and post-graduate students who request this service.
