The Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) is a higher education public institution with a defined mission in creating, transmitting and diffusing technical-scientific and professional knowledge through the articulation of study, teaching, applied research and experimental development. IPB belongs to the European Network for Universities of Applied Sciences (UASNET), which main objectives include the transferability of professional skills and the integration of applied research in their professional and technological education mission.
The internationalization of the IPB is one of its current strategic challenges, due to the awareness that this will be a positive factor for differentiation among higher education institutions.
The School of Agriculture of Polytechnic Institute of Bragança develops its activities in three main areas linked together: the teaching, research, experimentation and technological development and the support to the community. This model of operation and action, allows for constant training of staff in a continuous way, updated through research carried out either during the academic achievement of its faculty, or in the development of different projects with external financing made in close connection with the community. This acquired and accumulated knowledge is constantly transmitted to the community through different ways, from training to technical and scientific support to public entities.
