Objective(s) of a study programme:
Health and beauty business study programme objectives are:
to prepare a specialist who is able to use the knowledge about health and beauty services, to assess individual cases and situations, to apply social science knowledge when organizing health and beauty services business, to collect and adapt the data required to solve professional problems, and to as well as communicate collaborate with business partners in Lithuania and abroad, to obtain the need to develop lifelong learning and development.
Will be able to apply knowledge about human health, healthy lifestyle, and physical activity, when organizing health and beauty services business.
Will choose and provide appropriate health and beauty services to people, giving soul and body harmony.
Will integrate business and management knowledge of wellness and beauty services structures in an organization;
Will manage health and beauty services business structures through entrepreneurship, innovations, design, strategy, financial calculations and principles of quality, safety and hygiene requirements.
Will provide and implement health and beauty salon business development proposals in accordance with market conditions.
Will form correct provisions of a customer about taking care of health and quality of life, active lifestyle, as well as beauty services, facial and body care.
Will assess health and beauty salon business environment, consumer target markets, needs, social-psychological climate.
Will apply business and management researches in professional activities.
Will understand benefits of culture and communication, professional language proficiency and ethical principles applying them to professional activities.
Will organize activities, feeling the responsibility for professional development.
Will collect and analyze results that are necessary for professional innovation and improvement.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, exercises, self-study, scientific literature and analysis, seminars, colloquiums, examinations, final thesis defense.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Ten points criteria proportion cumulative assessment system is applied to assess knowledge and skills (cumulative assessment). Study programs and modules results during semester are evaluated using intermediate tests (written papers, control works, projects, oral reports described and defended orally, essays, tests, practical exercises, presented folders, etc.). The final evaluation (mark) consists of the intermediate tests and examination marks.
