The Directorate is an administrative institution in the field of education and its main objective is to improve quality and support progress in education in accordance with law and government policies, best evidence and international standards.
The learning objectives with the 60 credit diploma in French are:
- Students have mastered the basic concepts, methods and theories in the area of language and culture, economic and national life, history, literature and art.
- Students are able to use the language in writing and orally
- Students are able to use their knowledge and understanding in scholarly pursuits or in their profession.
At the end of the studies students have the following skills:
1.1. Students can use the language proficiently.
1.2. Students have mastered the basic concepts, methods and theories in the area of language and culture, economic and national life, history, literature and art.
1.3. Students have gained knowledge and understanding in one or more specialised area within the field of study (linguistics, translation, literature, culture, national life or history). The scope of students' knowledge covers the most recent findings in the subject.
2.1. Students have adopted the language as language users and are acquainted with the studies regarding it (grammar, linguistics).
2.2. Students can write coherent texts on various subjects.
2.3. Students can use the language in all kinds of situatuons.
3.1. Students are able to work independently
3.2. Students can take part in projects and discussion in the French language
3.3. Students are able to use the language effectively for social and academic purposes and in an occupational setting.
