A network of centres linking together the Careers Guidance systems in Europe euroguidance promotes mobility, helping guidance counsellors and individuals to better understand the opportunities available to European citizens throughout Europe.
The Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA) began his teaching activity in 1996 and since then has been developing its mission as an public higher education institution, contributing to the increase of qualification of the Portuguese population, ensuring quality training to more students, and reinforcing the scientific activity and applied research, in direct connection with the business and industrial sectors.
Based on a model of responsible governance and full transparency towards the various stakeholders, IPCA is now a consolidated institution with training offer in the fields of business sciences, technology and design, aimed at different audiences. Using its scientific and technical assets, IPCA has been creating, transmitting, and disseminate knowledge and culture, fostering the relationships with the surrounding community, promoting entrepreneurship and employability, developing cooperation and exchange, allowing interculturalism and internationalization.
The School of Technology began his teaching activity in 2004 and its intervention is directed towards the domains of information technologies, electronics and design.
EST main goal is to build up a relationship with the local community, increasing the sustainable growth of the region, through graduate and postgraduate education and development of investigation projects. Investigation should be done through cooperation projects with productive environment and other national or international schools, taking into account the fundamental role of applied I&D as the basis of quality teaching for harmonious development.

Have completed one of the following university entrance exams (central exams prepared by the Ministry of Education and Science): Physics and Chemistry, and Mathematics
There are some institutions in Portugal that give scholarships to international students and it is advisable that applicants confirm every year whether these grants are available and the eligibility terms: Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation; Foundation for the Sciences and Technology; Fulbright Commission; Instituto Camões; Luso-American Development Foundation; Fundação Oriente.

In September 2008 it opens with the Management School, Academic Services, Social Services, a canteen and a library.
The temporary building of the Technology School was built in Campus in September 2009.
