Qualification Information

Learning outcomes are formulated in accordance with the relevant occupational standard and the strategic objectives of educational programmes outlined in the state standard of first level professional higher education. Competences:

1. Basic understanding of the following in order to be able to perform professional tasks:
1.1. legal rhetoric;
1.2. logic.
2. Advanced understanding of the following in order to be able to perform professional tasks:
2.1. Latvian legal history;
2.2. rights in rem;
2.3. family law;
2.4. inheritance rights;
2.5. law of obligations;
2.6. employment law;
2.7. general part of civil law;
2.8. criminal law;
2.9. European Union law;
2.10. constitutional rights;
2.11. international public law;
2.12. professional terms in the official language and two foreign languages.
3. The professional activities of the basic tasks of the necessary knowledge on the level:
3.1. theory of law;
3.2. legal analysis and writing of legal texts;
3.3. administrative law and administrative procedure;
3.4. civil proceedings;
3.5. criminal proceedings;
3.6. fundamentals of professional ethics;
3.7. communication skills;
3.8. record-keeping;
3.9. computing;
3.10. official language;
3.11. ability to communicate in two foreign languages.



Skills:

1. Under the guidance of a lawyer to analyse the correspondence of the actual circumstances with the relevant legal norms and draw a legal conclusion.
2. To substantiate legal conclusions.
3. To find the applicable legal requirements.
4. To draw up documents and verify their compliance with the laws and regulations on record-keeping.
5. To use specialized computer programs, in particular - legal databases.
6. To organize and carry out record-keeping.
7. To use legal information resources.
8. To communicate fluently in the official language.
9. To communicate in two foreign languages.
10. To use professional terminology in the official language and two foreign languages.



Knowledge:
