Qualification Information

Learning outcomes are formulated in accordance with the relevant occupational standard and the strategic objectives of educational programmes outlined in the state standard of first level professional higher education. Competences:

1. The knowledge necessary for performance of the basic tasks of the professional activity at the level of notion:

Skills:

1. To evaluate, analyse, monitor the condition of the environment; identify pollution sources.
2. To carry out physical and chemical water, soil, air etc. environmental pollution tests.
3. To make environmental risk analysis.
4. To plan environmental protection measures.
5. To ensure environmental monitoring data collection, processing, analysis.
6. To organize making of an environmental impact assessment.
7. To develop and use environmentally-friendly wastewater treatment, waste management, drinking and technical water preparation, soil and air treatment technologies in the context of sustainable development.
8. To prepare the necessary documentation for environmental protection project development, carry out the economic calculations related to the use of natural resources or pollution.
9. To diagnose causes of technological equipment operational failures.
10. To calculate economic losses caused by environmental degradation and economic efficiency of degradation prevention measures.
11. To use mathematical methods in environmental assessment analysis and research; ability to use mathematical methods in the development of environmental protection proposals.
12. To develop recultivation projects for contaminated sites.
13. To prepare informative popular science materials.
14. To use office equipment, information technologies and software.
15. To observe and ensure meeting the requirements of the labour protection, fire safety and environmental protection laws and regulations.
16. To haveossess knowledge of internal environmental auditing principles.
17. To be able to implement an environmental management system or elements thereof in the company.
18. To organize and manage one’s work and the work of the subordinates.
19. To collaborate with other professionals.
20. To observe the principles of professional ethics.
21. To have a good command of the official language.
22. To have a good command of at least two foreign languages at the level of communication.
