Dangerous goods transport operator (no legal status)

Qualification Information

Candidates will be able to:
-plan, prepare, carry out and check own work,
-make rational use of energy, material and time,
-protect health and the environment,
-communicate with co-workers, experts and customers,
-inspect the equipment of a vehicle carrying dangerous goods,
-inspect documentation accompanying a vehicle carrying dangerous goods,
-check the correct loading of freight, check freight packaging and the suitable labelling of vehicles carrying dangerous goods,
-examine additional and special requests for the transport of a specific hazardous substance,
-safeguard dangerous goods vehicles and take correct action in the event of an accident,
-take part in the loading and unloading of dangerous goods.

-Certificate of participation in training regarding duties and responsibilities in the work process (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), UL RS Nos 9/03, 66/03, 9/05, 125/08, 97/10 and 14/13).

Candidates demonstrate attainment of the knowledge, skills and competences defined in the catalogue of standards of vocational knowledge and skills.

VALIDATION. During the guidance process, the candidate prepares a portfolio. The relevant committee assesses the portfolio and validates catalogue content in part or full. If the committee is unable to recognise all catalogue content, it assigns tasks to the candidate for verification.
VERIFICATION METHOD. Written test with the possibility of an oral presentation.
The candidate's training for the tasks performed in the carriage of dangerous goods is tested, as follows:
-basic training test, which can be complemented by a test covering specialisation training for class 1 (explosives), class 7 (radioactive substances) and/or tanker transport (8.2 ADR) or
-training test for persons involved in the carriage of dangerous goods (1.3 ADR)
During the test candidates may use literature defined by the testing panel.

Providers of procedures for identifying and validating national vocational qualifications are entered in a register of providers maintained in the relevant database of the National Reference Point for Occupational Qualifications. Providers include: vocational schools, companies, inter-company training centres, adult education centres, chambers of commerce, etc.
