Qualification Information

Candidates will be able to:  

  • plan, prepare, perform and assess their own work,  
  • keep their own records of work,  
  • ensure the quality of their work and carry out self-assessment,  
  • ensure the maintenance of resources and equipment,  
  • communicate with dancers and experts,  
  • use technical terminology and communicate in one foreign language,  
  • use modern information and communication technologies,  
  • develop entrepreneurial characteristics, skills and behaviour,  
  • make rational use of energy, material and time,  
  • protect health and the environment and take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others,  
  • select equipment and prepare themselves for training, exercises, entertainment,  performance,  
  • express themselves in movement and dance,    
  • maintain their physical fitness through regular training and exercises,   
  • implement expert instructions and corrections in the course of training, exercises, performances, entertainments,   
  • observe musical and stage conventions in the interpretation of dance, 
  • show awareness of their surroundings and the venue while dancing,   
  • demonstrate interpretive skills in a performance,   
  • pursue continuing professional development.

Providers of procedures for identifying and validating NVQs are entered in a register of providers maintained in the collection of the national information centre for vocational qualifications. These are: vocational schools, businesses, B2B training centres, adult education centres and chambers of commerce.

Candidates demonstrate attainment of the knowledge, skills and competences defined in the catalogue of standards of vocational knowledge and skills.

VALIDATION

During the guidance process the candidate prepares a portfolio, which a committee then assesses, validating catalogue content in part or in full. If the committee is unable to validate all contents of the catalogue, it assigns tasks to the candidate for verification.

VERIFICATION METHOD

Practical verification (dance performance) with an oral presentation.

  • At least vocational, general secondary or technical secondary education and
  • proof of dance roles in at least five full-length performances (min. duration 30 mins) or 40 dance appearances/competitions.
