Qualification Information

A student is qualified to:
(general competences)

  • demonstrate knowledge of the theoretical bases of natural sciences and scientific thinking,
  • transfer and apply theoretical knowledge into practice and problem-solving,
  • perform experiments and communicate various mental concepts,
  • interpret acquired knowledge, own learning and innovation in own professional field,
  • demonstrate initiative and autonomy in the performance of specific tasks,
  • communicate with colleagues and professionals from related disciplines and play an active part in group work,
  • undertake individual professional work and research, work in a group and demonstrate the knowledge necessary for the communication and publication of results,
  • demonstrate relevant knowledge for the understanding, introduction, application and evaluation of modern techniques and methods used in the professional and research spheres of cosmetology, and seek and classify new information,
  • use modern computer and information tools and skills that are present in everyday professional work.
  • demonstrate professional ethical responsibility,
  • show responsibility for health from the point of view of the care and maintenance of the body through observance of the principles of the cosmetology profession,
  • demonstrate environmental awareness,

(subject-specific competences)

  • consulting on proper selection, safe use and operation of dermocosmetic products,
  • production of compounded dermocosmetic products,
  • analysis and quality control of dermocosmetic products,
  • research work in the field of cosmetic products,
  • ability to conduct analyses of skin, hair and nail condition, 
  • familiarity with and use of regulations in the field of cosmetic products and changes to them resulting from adjustment to technical advances,
  • development of cosmetic products from skin-care formulations on the basis of regulatory requirements.

A condition for completing studies is that the candidate has successfully completed all study requirements defined by the programme, for a total of 180 ECTS credits.

Second-cycle master's study programmes (SQF level 8)

Examination performance is scored as follows: 10 (excellent); 9 (very good: above-average knowledge but with some mistakes); 8 (very good: solid results); 7 (good); 6 (adequate: knowledge satisfies minimum criteria); 5–1 (inadequate). In order to pass an examination, the candidate must achieve a grade between adequate (6) and excellent (10).

  • Matura or
  • vocational matura in any secondary school programme and an examination in the matura subject of chemistry or biology (if the candidate has already been examined in one of these subjects in the vocational matura, he/she must choose the examination in the other required subject) or
  • final examination (before 1 June 1995) for any four-year secondary school programme.
