A network of centres linking together the Careers Guidance systems in Europe euroguidance promotes mobility, helping guidance counsellors and individuals to better understand the opportunities available to European citizens throughout Europe.
The degree in Computer Engineering began in 1995 and has become a reference due to its broad- training programme, which aims at the acquisition of longstanding competences as well as of more specific technological knowledge, in an area in which the technological evolution is very fast.
Should students want to choose an advanced specialised training or to further their studies, they can apply to the Master’s degree in Computer Engineering and further proceed to the Doctorate programme in Informatics.
The University of Évora is a public institution of higher education whose origins date back to 1559. After being closed in the 18th century, the university reopens in 1979. At the present time, it is organized in departments which are grouped in schools related to specific scientific domains, such as:

The Social Services award scholarships to students who are financially challenged. Fresher students should apply for scholarships within 30 days after the first day of registration. For the remaining students, the application deadline is annually set by the Academic Services.
Besides the university services, students may also contact other institutions which award scholarships such as several government services and some foundations (e.g. Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Eugenio de Almeida Foundation, among others).

Accredited by the Engineers’ Professional Association since 2003, this degree grants its students recognized knowledge and advanced competences in the analysis and development of information-based systems, namely symbolic processing systems, multimedia systems, applications in networks, mobile computing and Artificial Intelligence. Adaptability to a diversity of new situations, namely technological evolutions and paradigm changes, is always encouraged.
The career opportunities are extremely varied. A non-exhaustive list includes the performance of technical functions in public administration, design work and development in technology-based companies, consulting, teaching and scientific research.
Graduates in Computer Engineering from the University of Évora has an excellent market acceptance of employment.

The university’s Social Services provide 528 beds in 7 halls of residence all over the city within easy and fast access to the university buildings. At present, the farthest residence is about 30 minutes away on foot.
