The Bachelor of Science at Reykjavik University is a three-year program (six semesters) of 180 ECTS credits in total. Students take five courses (30 ECTS units) in each semester with the exception of the sixth semester, to which the thesis is the equivalent of two courses (12 ECTS). The Bachelor of Science in Sport Science at RU provides the student with fundamental knowledge of sport and an insight into sports science, in addition to providing an insight into the roles and activities undertaken by sports scientists. In addition to providing the student with a broad competence base in all major industry segments of sport, the program also provides the student with the transferable knowledge, skills and competences that can be used in any sports-related field of work. The program also prepares the student for the academic demands of participating in postgraduate studies in sports science.
