Course Information

Knowledge
After completing the studies, the student shall:

  • Be able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the theories, concepts and methods of general natural and life sciences.
  • Be able to demonstrate insight in selected theories and concepts relating to business administration and commerce.
  • Be able to acquire comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the latest discoveries within the chosen biotechnology field.
  • Be able to describe subjects and issues, where the methods of biotechnology are used to solve various problems.
  • Be able to apply basic methods in search- and information technology

Skills
After completing the studies, the student shall:

  • Be able to use his/her knowledge and understanding in theoretical activities and possess skills to justify theoretical as well as applied solutions to problems in biotechnology.
  • Be able to use special research equipments, technology and software for data acquisition.
  • Be able to demonstrate skills in presenting and describing research results and complex theoretical issues. Also to apply scientific criticism to his/her own works and others, having acquired understanding and insight enabling him/her to independently ass
  • Be able to discuss and explain the importance of precision and uncertainty in the collection, recording and analysis of data.

Competences
After completing the studies, the student shall:

  • Have demonstrated the necessary academic ability and independence in work procedures to be able to engage in further study within their field of specialisation.
  • Possess the ability to actively participate and take the lead in cooperation where partners may be expected to approach tasks within their specialisation in different ways.
  • Be able to demonstrate skills in the handling of software and technology for presenting research results to partners, peers and the public.
  • Be able to communicate his/her experiences, ideas and knowledge.
  • Have developed open and innovative ways of thinking for use in further studies and work.
