Course Information

Objective(s) of a study programme:
The Bachelor study program in Biophysics is designed to teach graduates to be able to pursue careers in a range of professional areas or continue as Master Students.
Learning outcomes:
A holder of a Bachelor's degree in Biophysics:
is able to use various informational technologies;
work with biological objects, use modern systems of data and information acquisition, methods of interpretation and modeling;
plan and run experiments using modern equipment, perform statistical data analysis;
formulate and verify hypotheses, experimental tasks and goals as well as integrate into multidisciplinary projects.

Lectures, laboratory work, practical training, seminars, consultations, self-study.

Framework:
Study subjects (modules), practical training:
During the first semesters students are taught the basic concepts of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, computation, English. Later students integrate obtained knowledge by studying the main concepts of biophysics, molecular biology, genetics and physiology. Majority of subjects are accompanied by practical and laboratory exercises. Practical skills are strengthened during Professional practice and while preparing the Final Thesis.

24 credits allocated for elective courses (part of them – other study field). Possibility of double qualification bachelor degree
Distinctive features of a study programme:
Combination of broad knowledge on biology of various life forms as possible research objects with experimental instrumentation – planning, data acquisition and analysis.
