The Department of Digital Media and Communication occupies an important position in the field of the Technological Educational Institutes and, more generally, in the area of higher education in Greece. This position results on the one hand from the innovation of the study subject, on the other hand from its exclusivity nationwide.

Digital Media and Communication represent a growing part of the means of expression, entrepreneurship, but also of everyday life. The object of Digital Media and Communication includes all theories, methods, techniques and tools that govern and treat a wide range of media, ranging from information to entertainment and the arts, focusing on the trend towards their digital form, social networking and the Internet.

In the labour market, there is a shortage of graduates who have this combination of knowledge and skills which will allow them to engage in this professional area, which extends from the media to the advertising, tourism and cultural management, and freelance web expertise.

The approach of these media has in fact a social, cultural, aesthetic and, of course, technological aspect, thereby providing the methodological practice with an inclusive dimension. We thus aim to create an educational environment which promotes interdisciplinary understanding of Digital Media and Communication and the investigation of this scientific field in a constantly updating way in order to follow the developments of theory and practice in the now globalized world of affairs.
