Learning Opportunity: Architecture

Course Information

The core skills of architecture are planning, construction and design. Tasks include detailed planning, support structure planning and object planning, urban development, landscape design and spatial planning as well as the design of virtual spaces, always taking into account artistic, technical, ecological and social aspects.
The bachelor's programme follows a project-based structure from the very first semester onwards. The first semester is an orientation phase which provides an introduction to all five platforms (core competences) for the students. Each of the five platforms becomes the focus of the programme for one semester; the priority topics of the relevant semester revolve around it. The elective subjects make up a separate module. At least one of these electives should be studied outside the department. Moreover, excursions are also supported, which serve to illustrate the course contents in a real-life context. The degree programme concludes with a bachelor's thesis.
