Knowledge, Ability and SkillsAt the conclusion of the doctorate, the student shall have obtained the following referents, in addition to those obtained at the previous level: 1. Knowledge and Understanding1.1 The student has gained an extensive and in-depth understanding of the main theories, basic ideas, concepts and most recent knowledge of a specific field within social work. The knowledge is significantly deeper than that acquired at the previous level.1.2 The student has adopted a creative and critical way of thinking in matters related to his/her research field and can put forth and develop academic ideas1.3 The student has an understanding of the nature of social scientific research and knows the rights and obligations of scientists, including when it comes to issues of confidentiality, property rights, ethics, and ownership of results and data.1.4 The student has taken initiative in creating new knowledge and interpreting it through research which has passed the review and critique of scholars in the appropriate field.1.5 The student possesses knowledge and information gained through his/her own research and which counts as a valuable contribution to the academic field in question. 1.6 The student knows the systems used to finance research and assess it and has an understanding of the academic and business uses of research. 2.
