  3. Environment and Natural Resources, Master's

    Two year academic and research-oriented graduate programme in environment and natural resources at the University of Iceland. The programme is organized and administered collectively by the 5 Schools of UI: School of Education, School of Engineering and Natural Sciences, School of Health Sciences, School of Humanities and School of Social Sciences. Students graduate from one of the faculties within the above schools with the degree magister scientarium (MS) or magister artium (MA). The programme comprises 120 ECTS, including a research project of either 30 or 60 ECTS and qualifies graduates to be admitted to doctoral programmes at level 3. Candidates must have completed a first University degree (BS, BA or other equivalent degrees), and fulfil other considerations set by the programme board.     Definition A two-year theoretical and practical programme of studies at level 4 in geography in the Faculty of Life and Envionmental Sciences, School of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the University of Iceland. The programme provides 120 ECTS units of credit and qualifies for the degree of magister scientiarum, MS. The entrance requirements are a BS degree in geography or a comparable qualification, usually completed with the marks 6.5 or higher. The scope of the research project shall be 60 ECTS units. The MS degree provides access to third cycle doctorate studies.     Upon completion of both the BSc programme and the MSc programme in Financial Engineering, a total of 300 ECTS credits, the following criteria shall be fulfilled: KNOWLEDGE Mathematical analysis common to most engineering disciplines, multivariable calculus, including differentiation and integrals, and differential equations. Principles of linear algebra, vectors, matrices, determinants, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and of solving systems of linear equations.
