The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is a translation tool that helps communication and comparison between qualifications systems in Europe. Its eight common European reference levels are described in terms of learning outcomes: knowledge, skills and competences. This allows any national qualifications systems, national qualifications frameworks (NQFs) and qualifications in Europe to relate to the EQF levels. Learners, graduates, providers and employers can use these levels to understand and compare qualifications awarded in different countries and by different education and training systems.

    The graduates of the Department of Physical Therapy bear the professional title of "Physical Therapists" or "Physiotherapists" and upon completing their studies acquire the necessary scientific and technological knowledge, competences, and skills, in order to, autonomously, or in collaboration with physicians following a medical diagnosis relevant to the prevention, improve and restore pathological situations that are congenital and acquired, including trauma to the skeletal, muscular, neural, respiratory, and cardiovascular system, screen the patient, with regard to physical therapy, and select, organize and safety conduct the physical treatment required for the case at hand (Government Gazette 222/17-09-2003).
