Dear readers,

With the spring season approaching, it is time for the Urban Agenda for the EU to bloom again. With the activities planned for 2023, we are strongly motivated to continue supporting the UAEU community.

As highlighted in the previous newsletter, the new European Urban Initiative (EUI) Secretariat will support the Urban Agenda for the EU from the side of the European Commission. A framework for the support services is currently being finalised by the EUI Secretariat. This framework will include a package of specific services offered to the members of UAEU Thematic Partnerships, as well as support services for the implementation of the UAEU as a whole.

This will be the last newsletter from the Urban Agenda for the EU in this format, and we strongly invite you to follow the one from the EUI as indicated below if you want to continue receiving updates about the Urban Agenda for the EU and its Partnerships.

This month is also marked by the 5th Edition of the Cities Forum organised by DG REGIO and taking place in Torino, Italy. In you are not joining in person, we invite you to follow some sessions online and keep yourself posted through the communication channels of DG REGIO, partners, and involved stakeholders for receiving the information that will provided at this occasion.

With this newsletter, we also want to highlight the success of the first call as part of the European Urban Initiative (EUI) Innovative Actions. 99 applications from 21 Member States were received and are currently being assessed. We invite you to visit the EUI website to find out more statistical information on the first call.
As you can see, many exciting developments for 2023 to look forward to. We hope you enjoy the read, and we look forward to engaging with you in the year to come!

All the best,

The Urban Agenda for the EU team
