Stakeholder event on tobacco taxation

The European Commission will table a new proposal before the end of 2022 to update the EU taxation rules for tobacco products. Stakeholders have already been able to submit feedback throughout the Better Regulation consultation process for this initiative. As that process draws to a close, this online event will give interested parties the opportunity to present their views on the latest developments in the area. “THE EU TAX MIX ON THE ROAD TO 2050” SERIES OF EVENTS

The European Commission is launching a series of events to help steer the discussion towards a tax framework that is fit for the future. These events will culminate in a high level Tax Symposium in November 2022 on the “EU tax mix on the road to 2050”. This will generate input and ideas on the large-scale changes needed in taxation across the EU and will orientate our policy priorities for the future. Below you can find the events confirmed to date:

Mega-trends and their impact on taxation

The event will launch a systematic reflection and debate on the right tax mix for the EU over the next 20-30 years. It will also be a chance to hear details on the latest Annual Report on Taxation. Stay tuned – registrations will open soon!

Tax Symposium “On the road to 2050: A tax mix for the future”

The Tax Symposium is a one-day, high-level ministerial conference in Brussels, hosted by European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni. Information about the programme and registration will be published on our website in September.
