Welcome to the 7th edition of the Mission Ocean and Waters newsletter! 

In this issue, discover the latest Mission Ocean and Waters Horizon Europe Work Programme, with call for proposals for projects protecting and restoring our ocean and waters as well as the insights presented during the EU Missions Info Days 2025 on each of the calls.

An ocean of collaborations

Funding & Open Calls

TIDAL ArtS Lighthouse call

The TIDAL ArtS Mission Ocean and Waters project is inviting artists, collectives and creatives across Europe to inspire citizen engagement with aquatic environments across the Mission Ocean and Water lighthouse regions. Twenty selected applicants will each receive a EUR 15 000 grant to create works that connect communities to their local waters, and take part in workshops with scientists, civil society organisations, and educators. Deadline: 14 June 2025.

SHORE third and final call for schools

SHORE, a Mission Ocean and Waters project, has launched their third and final call for schools. Eligible primary and secondary schools are invited to propose at least three types of activities that address at least one of following topics: sea-based activities, biodiversity, hazardous substances and marine litter, climate change, or the sustainable use of marine resources. Successful applicants will receive a grant of EUR 10,000 plus project mentorship and guidance. Deadline: 30 June 2025.

LIFE Call for Proposals 2025

The LIFE Programme 2025 has just launched, featuring calls highly relevant to the objectives of the Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters." Check out calls for the Standard Action Projects (SAPs) under the Nature, Environment, and Climate Change sub-programmes, as well as calls for the Strategic Nature Projects (SNaPs) and Strategic Integrated Projects (SIPs). Deadline: SAPs: 23 September 2025; SNaPs and SIPs: 05 March 2026.
