The Commission adopted both Recommendations on 1 March 2024.
What is in it for R&I actors? The new Codes of Practice offer guidance for researchers and innovators on how to actively engage with other players to jointly produce and valorise knowledge for the benefit of the economy and society.
The Code of Practice on industry-academia co-creation advises on creating successful partnerships for knowledge valorisation. It addresses the importance of networking, communication, and awareness raising. It also calls for creating an enabling environment and incentives for co-creation.
The Code of Practice on citizen engagement offers guidance to strengthen the links between research and society for a better uptake of research results. It stresses the importance of the role of intermediaries and of using co-creation tools and digital solutions. It also provides advice on human-centric and sustainable strategies and incentives.
I invite you to join us in Brussels for the Research and Innovation Week to learn more about the new Codes of Practice during a session dedicated to "The Power of Knowledge Valorisation: Solving complex societal problems focusing on human needs" on 21 March 2024. Don't miss this exciting event!
