Israel joins Horizon Europe research and innovation programme
|
Today, the agreement associating Israel to Horizon Europe enters into force, following the signature between Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and Mr Haim Regev, Ambassador of Israel to the EU and NATO. Israeli researchers, innovators and research entities can now participate in the EU’s €95.5 billion programme for research and innovation on equal terms with entities from the EU Members States.

Commissioner Gabriel said said:
"I warmly welcome Israel to Horizon Europe. Looking back to 25 years of research and innovation cooperation so far, I am proud of our breakthroughs in ICT, health, advanced manufacturing, biotechnology and climate. In the partnership with Israel, I hope to boost our innovation capacity in support of green and digital agendas and enhance science cooperation in the region.”

Five Western Balkan partners join Horizon Europe research and innovation programme
|
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia signed today, alongside Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, their Association Agreements to the Horizon Europe programme. Albania is expected to follow with the association in the upcoming weeks. This marks an important milestone for closer research and innovation cooperation with the Western Balkans.

Commissioner Mariya Gabriel said:
"I welcome Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia to Horizon Europe. We can attract investment, develop human capital, support start-ups and create the necessary conditions for growth by working together. The implementation of the Western Balkans Agenda and participation in Horizon Europe will have a great impact in the region and in Europe overall."
