The second Harnessing Talent Platform (HTP) high-level event titled “Talent Booster Mechanism in Action – Results and ways forward” was held on 18 March in Brussels. At the core of the event was the support provided by the European Commission to Member States, regions, and cities through the 8 Pillars of the Talent Booster Mechanism (TBM).

A big thanks to our speakers and those who joined the conversation on 18 March!
Some 120 stakeholders from over 20 EU Member States, among which representatives of national and regional governments, businesses and NGOs as well as key experts in the topics of demography and regional attractiveness came together to listen to success stories, learn from each other and engage in stimulating conversations.
More than 600 participants joined the event online via livestream and engaged in the sessions via a dedicated online tool during multiple Q&A sessions.
The event was opened by Nicola DE MICHELIS, acting Deputy Director-General of DG REGIO, who set the scene for the day; followed by an inspiring keynote from Arnstein AASSVE, Professor in Demography from Bocconi University.
With a packed agenda including panel discussions and information sessions, a total of 21 speakers and panellists from EU institutions, regional and local authorities benefiting from the TBM and international partners, were exploring topics such as regional competitiveness and attractiveness, the need to boost talent and increase economic opportunities as well as ways to adapt to and tackle the demographic transition on the ground.
During the event, participants could learn about the resources the Harnessing Talent Platform offers to support informed policy making.
