Following the success of the first intake, the Border Focal Point Network is excited to announce the second call for Youth4Cooperation Cross-Border Ambassadors. Applicants have until the 10 September 2024 to join this unique opportunity to shape the future of EU border regions.

The Border Focal Point Network, an initiative by the European Commission's DG REGIO, is thrilled to announce the second edition of the Youth4Cooperation: Cross-Border Ambassadors programme. This project empowers young people from the EU and EFTA countries to shape the future of border regions through dynamic cross-border cooperation.

We are seeking motivated young individuals aged 18 to 30 who are fluent in English and passionate about EU values and cross-border collaboration.

Participants will engage in meaningful discussions, create impactful content, and regularly interact with European institutions, regional representatives, and key stakeholders. Selected ambassadors will also receive a personal invitation to the Youth for Future Cooperation event in Brussels on 15 November 2024, providing a unique opportunity to connect with leading figures in European cross-border cooperation.

The programme offers participants the chance to attend regular meetings with European Commission officials, collaborate with regional representatives, and contribute directly to the future of EU cross-border cooperation. The Ambassadors also got to share their insights with participants of the Beyond Borders Breakfast Debates in testimonial videos, such as Ninon Paulissen and Simon Jyrkäs’s testimonial on cross-border transport and sparsely populated areas (check it out below).

Reflecting on the experience, former ambassador Ninon Paulissen remarked, "With this initiative, we see that there are not just obstacles but also solutions." Likewise, Maria Parthena Moula highlighted the program’s impact, stating, "Young people should [...] be empowered to forge meaningful relationships for a brighter collective future."

Applicants have until 10 September 2024 to apply by submitting a motivation letter and a video testimonial through this survey.
