Scaling up skills: Call to identify real life examples of how skills projects help people

In the European Year of Skills we are gearing up for an exciting new venture that draws attention to the real-life impact of the Year and your initiatives! "Real People, Real Skills" - a campaign that celebrates the stories of individuals who've reshaped their careers and lives through upskilling and reskilling programmes.

We need YOUR help in identifying the real heroes of the Year and of your work – the people whose stories can inspire and motivate. Maybe it’s someone who has benefitted from your organisation’s work in skills development, a colleague in your organisation, or simply someone you’ve come into contact with; We believe your insight can lead us to some amazing tales and “Real life, Real People” gives you the chance to showcase the life-changing impact of your valuable work in our campaign via the website, social media, and during the closing event of the Year in spring 2024.

We have created an easy-to-use survey for individual contributions to our campaign. After a short introduction to the campaign, participants are asked to share their story, basic personal information, upload a picture of themselves (1MB max), and finally sign a privacy statement. It should not take more than 10 minutes to fill in.

Do you know someone who could be one of the faces of our Year of Skills? If the person you’re thinking of does not speak English, do not worry. Let us know, and we will send you a translated version in your desired language.

We recommend sharing the link to the survey with people directly.

We look forward to having your ideas and reading your people’s stories by December 19.
