EU Regions Week 2023

The 21st edition of the biggest Brussels-based event dedicated to Cohesion policy takes place from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 October 2023 at the SQUARE Convention Centre.

What do a dialogue on brain drain, promising journalists who are enthusiastic about the European project, and geopolitical and environmental challenges have in common?

Well, they will all be at the centre of attention at the EU Regions Week. Don’t miss the biggest Brussels-based event dedicated to Cohesion policy – and the regional food tastings - at the SQUARE Convention Centre from 9-12 October.

The rich programme offers different thematic sessions, participatory/political labs, EURegions Talk, food tasting event as well as high level sessions with Commissioners and ministers.

Don’t miss the High-level sessions with Commissioner Ferreira:

  • Citizens Dialogue on Tuesday 10 October at 19:00-20:00. Young people will share their experience with Commissioner Ferreira. What challenges are they facing?  Why did they decide to stay or to leave their place of origin? And how does it relate to the talent development trap and demographic decline which is affecting the EU and some of its regions? Make sure to book your seat! The dialogue will be followed by a reception, regional tastings and get-together moments!
  • Megalizzi-Niedzielski Prize on Wednesday 11 October at 19:00-20:00. The Megalizzi-Niedzielski prize honours the memory of Antonio Megalizzi and Bartek Piotr Orent-Niedzielski, young European journalists with a strong attachment to the EU and its values, who passed away after a terrorist attack in Strasbourg in late 2018. The prize aims to reward and encourage promising journalists who share Antonio and Bartek's enthusiasm for the European project.

For the first time, this year’s edition also has 6 thematic sessions dedicated to discussing the transformational challenges that Cohesion Policy supports regions in overcoming. Have a look below:
